The Story Behind NeuralClinic Ai – Built by Parents, for Every Child Who Waited Too Long

For Shaji Nair and Karthika Nair, this mission is not theoretical. It is not simply a healthcare technology opportunity. It comes from the lived experience of being parents to an autistic teenage son who is non-verbal, and from years of navigating a system that too often moves too slowly for children and families who need help early, consistently, and compassionately.

Like many parents of autistic children and children with developmental challenges, Shaji and Karthika experienced the uncertainty, frustration, and emotional weight that comes with trying to find answers, services, and continuity of care. The waiting time to see developmental pediatricians were long. Access to specialists was limited. The pathway to diagnosis, therapy, school-based support, and coordinated care was often delayed and fragmented – leaving families without the developmental delay support they needed most.

Every month of waiting felt significant because, for a child, time is not just time – it is development, communication, learning, confidence, and opportunity.

Their family saw firsthand how difficult it can be to coordinate care across pediatricians, developmental specialists, therapists, schools, counselors, and family caregivers. Even when everyone involved cared deeply, the system often lacked enough coordination touch points, continuity, and shared visibility. Information was scattered. Progress was hard to track. Parents were left carrying the burden of coordination while also trying to advocate, understand clinical recommendations, support school needs, and manage daily life. This breakdown in autism care coordination meant that even well-resourced families fell through the gaps.

In school settings, the challenges became even more visible. Autistic children who are non-verbal often require consistent observation, timely communication, individualized support, and strong coordination between teachers, parents, therapists, counselors, and clinicians. But the reality is that schools are stretched, specialists are overloaded, and families are often left wondering whether their child’s needs are being fully understood, documented, and followed through. The absence of structured non-verbal autistic child support systems in most school environments only deepened these gaps.

For Shaji and Karthika, these experiences created a clear conviction: families should not have to wait months or years for clarity and support. Pediatricians should have better tools to identify developmental concerns earlier and move toward early autism diagnosis before critical developmental windows close. Schools should have better systems to coordinate support. Therapists and clinicians should have access to structured insights that help them understand the child more completely. Most importantly, children should not lose precious developmental time because the system is fragmented.

NeuralClinic Ai was created to help close that gap.

The platform is being built to support earlier developmental identification, smarter pediatric developmental screening, coordinated school and therapy workflows, and continuous communication between the people responsible for a child’s care. It is designed around a simple but powerful belief: when technology is built with compassion, clinical purpose, and lived experience, it can help families get answers sooner and help children receive support earlier.

This is why NeuralClinic Ai is more than a product. It is a mission shaped by a family’s journey.

Shaji and Karthika are building NeuralClinic Ai for their son, and for every autistic child, non-verbal child, and family who has waited too long, felt unheard, struggled to coordinate care, or watched precious developmental years pass without the right support at the right time.

Their vision is to create a future where developmental concerns are recognized earlier, care teams are better connected, schools are better supported, and families are no longer left to navigate the journey alone.

NeuralClinic Ai exists because every child deserves to be seen earlier, understood better, and supported with dignity.
